First Blog; Introduction

Hi everyone and welcome to my first blog!

I must admit, I am quite new to this whole blogging thing, so please bear with me as I navigate through this new adventure. I've done a bit of research and realized that many blogs out there resemble magazine articles, but I want to take a different approach. I want my blogs to be personal and relatable, like having a conversation with a friend.

When I wrote my first novel, I experienced all the ups and downs of the writing process and often felt lost. It's important for me to share my struggles and triumphs with you, and to explain all the steps, writer jargon, and everything else that goes into writing. I encourage you to engage with me! Don't hesitate to reach out with any questions you may have, and if you'd like to share your writing journey with me, feel free to send me an email.

In this first blog, I'll be giving a brief introduction about myself.

I have been passionate about writing books and screenplays for many years. Growing up was not easy for me, but I discovered at a young age that reading books was a way for me to escape from the challenges of the real world. When I was eight years old, I had already read every book in my school's library and was thrilled to step into an actual library for the first time. If I didn't have such a strong love for writing, I probably would have pursued a career as a librarian. During my time in primary school, I faced significant difficulties with math, and it wasn't until I reached adulthood that I was diagnosed with dyscalculia. To avoid math classes, I immersed myself in my writing journey, spending countless hours crafting essays that eventually evolved into captivating short stories.

Besides my love for reading, I discovered a newfound passion for musical theatre. Performing on stage became an escape for me, allowing me to transform into a completely different person. My primary school teachers encouraged and helped me get accepted into a specialized school for Performing Arts, Arts, Movie Making and Creative Writing. At the age of fourteen, I wrote my first novel, followed by my first screenplay at fifteen. However, my parents, like many others I guess, believed that pursuing a career in the arts would not give me a financially stable future. As a result, I decided to study clinical and forensic psychology and got my doctorate in behavioural analysis.

I, however, never stopped writing, and I traditionally published two novels, which are out of publication after a long battle. My traditional publishing experience wasn’t good. I will tell you more about that in another blog. Over the years, I have been doing a lot of ghostwriting and editing. I've followed Creative Writing and professional editing courses.

At thirty-nine, I became very sick, and I promised myself that if I got better, I would pursue my dream and start my own business in coaching, editing and writing my novels. The time is finally here and I’m excited to take this step. I am extremely passionate about working with writers and helping them enhance the art of storytelling. My ultimate goal is to assist indie authors and individuals aspiring to enter the world of writing and transforming their stories into publishable novels. Writing holds a special place in my heart, but my life's purpose revolves around supporting others in bringing their stories to life. I am not only dedicated to guiding and advising on the writing process but also to shedding light on the challenges that authors face. However, I will encourage and motivate lol. I also have a severe passion for all things book-related and enjoy expressing my creativity. Alongside my main business, I have a small venture called The Bookish Dream Shop. Here, I offer a wide range of handmade bookish items for sale. Not only can you purchase books from my shop, but you can also read my latest reviews and explore various other bookish goodies. My bookshop holds a special place in my heart as it allows me to support and sell Indie Books, as well as promote independent authors through my platform.

Anyways....back to my blog lol. In my blog, I will take you and explore various areas of the writing process. I will provide insights on constructing compelling characters that readers can connect with on an emotional level. We will look into the art of world-building, tailoring it to different genres to create incredible settings. I will also focus on techniques for crafting tension and suspense, as well as effective plotting and subplotting. 'Show..don't Tell', is one of the most hated parts of creative writing, but I will try to shed light on it, and advice on how to master this skill. I am truly enthusiastic about this blog and cannot wait to share my knowledge and passion with fellow writers.

Also ... I like dolphins, horses and puppies.
